In the wake of the recent arrest of Duane Keith Davis, known as "Keefe D," in Las Vegas on September 29 on a murder charge linked to the 1996 fatal shooting of Tupac Shakur, a slew of rumors and explosive revelations have set the internet abuzz. Keefe D's involvement in the Tupac saga includes a 2008 confession to the Los Angeles police, where he sought immunity in connection with a P.C.P. ring case.
He has not shied away from the limelight, conducting numerous interviews and even penning a memoir titled "Compton Street Legend: Notorious Keffe D's Street-Level Accounts of Tupac and Biggie Murders, Death Row Origins, Suge Knight, Puffy Combs, and Crooked Cops."
In his written account and interviews, Keefe D makes shocking allegations, pointing the finger at Sean "Puffy" Combs for orchestrating a $1 million hit on Suge Knight and Tupac Shakur out of fear for his own life. The narrative turns sinister as Keefe D claims that the infamous "East Coast, West Coast Beef" can be traced back to a 1995 confrontation at a So-So Def party in Atlanta. According to Keefe D, the altercation resulted in the alleged killing of Suge Knight's associate, Big Jake Robles, by none other than Puff's bodyguard at the time, Anthony "Wolf" Jones.
Retired Los Angeles Police Department Detective Greg Kading alleges in an interview with PEOPLE in 2016, "Los Angeles authorities decided not to charge Combs partly because of his celebrity. They also declined to pursue the case more than five years ago because both of the suspected gunmen were dead, having died in unrelated incidents." Kading wrote a book and was the subject of a documentary titled, "Murder Rap: Inside the Biggie and Tupac Murders."
As these explosive revelations continue to circulate, they add yet another layer of complexity to the already contentious history surrounding the deaths of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., further fueling public fascination and debate. The arrest of Keefe D has undoubtedly reignited interest in one of the most enduring mysteries in hip-hop history.
